The Global Privacy and Security Law Reference

Duncan Giles is a Senior Regulatory Advisor at NBN Co. Limited. He regularly advises a wide range of privacy and data protection issues, and information law generally. Mr. Giles is the Chair of the Law Council of Australia Business Law Section's Privacy Committee, Chair of the Internet Industry Association's Privacy Code Development Taskforce, and a member of the editorial board of the Privacy Law Bulletin. Mr. Giles was a board member of the International Association of Privacy Practitioners (Australia-New Zealand) and a member of the Advisory Committee to the Australian Law Reform Commission's recent comprehensive review of privacy law, and of the Federal Privacy Commissioner's reference groups for the development of the Guidelines on the National Privacy Principles and the Guidelines for Privacy Code Development. Mr. Giles was also co-author of the Andersen Legal Privacy Survey Series, the CCH 2002 Master Business Guide Information Technology Section, and Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Lawbook Company's publication eLaw Practice. Mr. Giles holds a Master of Laws in information technology, media, and communications.
