Arve Føyen
Arve Føyen is a partner in FØYEN Advokatfirma DA’s Intellectual Property, Media and Technology Practice Group, which he is heading. Mr. Føyen has considerable experience with information technology and intellectual property matters, including issues related to digital-TV distribution, telecoms, advice and negotiation on IT-procurement and outsourcing arrangements, as well as information security and privacy compliance. His practice focuses on commercial arrangements that involve general intellectual property and technology issues.
He was Deputy Director of the Norwegian Data Protection Authority from 1979 to 1982, and he was engaged by the Ministry of Justice to evaluate the need for changes in the Data Registers Act in 1983. As from January 1, 2009, Mr. Føyen has been appointed by the Norwegian Parliament as deputy chairman for the Norwegian Privacy Appeals Board.
